The annual Canberra Games Festival celebrates a wide range
of games and interactive entertainment.
The theme - Culture · Art · Identity - celebrates
the positive contribution that games have made to our lives and
our society. It recognises the increasing acceptance of games as
a valid form of entertainment and an art in itself. It also acknowledges
those that have contributed to the industry by creating innovative
entertainment or those that embrace games as their preferred pastime.
The Canberra Games Festival aims to:
- Celebrate games and gaming culture.
- Promote electronic games as a positive form of entertainment.
- Reduce misconceptions regarding the computer games industry.
- Establish Canberra as the ‘games capital’ of Australia.
Organisers of the Festival invite community groups to register their
game related event to be included as part of the official 2006
Canberra Games Festival Program.
